You will be exploring the Salem-Keizer Common Literacy Model as well as other literacy models and resources available on the web in this scavenger hunt.

Familiarize yourself with the comprehensive literacy model by clicking on each title and reviewing the definition.

2. Visit http://boo.blogs.com/ic/ A Web Community for Salem-Keizer School District to share ideas, support each other and learn together. Find Marzano’s Nine High Yield Instructional Strategies. Choose one and restate it in your own words.

3. Visit http://www.readfaster.com/education_stats.asp#literacystatistics Review the synopsis of literacy statistics. Respond to the following questions according to the statistics.

~ How many high school graduates can’t read their diplomas?

~How many American adults cannot understand the label on their prescription?

~How much time does the average reader spend rereading words?
